We decided to wait for Dan to come home from his trip, and then we'd go get her ears pierced. She counted down the days and then hours until this glorious day arrived. On that special Saturday, we went to the Bellevue Mall. I tried to prep her and tell her exactly what would happen, and that it would hurt a bit, but she said she didn't mind and would be very brave.
The store was very busy that afternoon, but she hopped right up into the chair without hesitation. She sat there so tall and brave. They pierced both ears at the same time, and the lady doing her right ear, tugged on the earring a bit - that's when the tears started. It hurt way more than she anticipated. She only cried briefly, and was so tough. She didn't expect them to burn and to feel hot for about 30 minutes afterwards. After the hot sensation went away, she seemed to do much better with them. She never regretted getting them pierced, even for a moment, but couldn't wait to tell her friends at school, HOW much it hurt to get them pierced!
